A Little Get to Know Me!

  Alysia (Uh-Lee-Sea-Uh) Shaffer is originally from Kingman, Arizona but moved to Salt Lake City, Utah at the age of four years old. She has been dancing at Studio 56 Dance Center since she was three years old and has a deep love for her studio family. While growing up, she learned what it means to be passionate, loving, and hard working. She values looking at the positives within everyone and everything. Dancing always allows Alysia to find her inner peace and her happiness.

She competed for 13 years and during those years she found herself and the love for dancing. While competing she started training with a contemporary company called SALT Contemporary Dance. While with SALT she performed in their production of PAN during the summer for three years! Along with doing PAN she also took part in their Senior Pre Professional program where she took workshops from their company members and learned pieces to perform for the summer LINK festival they put on. In the fall seasons of her high school years (freshman-senior) her studio partaken in Odyssey Dance Theatre’s production of Thriller, where her teammates and her were Zombies! During her junior and senior year of high school she was a cheerleader. While cheering she earned the title of an All American cheerleader (2020), All State cheerleader(2022), her team won West Coast Nationals (2021), and her team also won the State cheer competition (2022).

Her senior year of high school she auditioned for AMDA College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts, she ended up getting accepted and moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2022. While being at AMDA she has had the wonderful opportunity to be company member on Tremaine Performance Company. She goes from state to state assistanting amazing choreographers/teachers while meeting incredible people! Since being in Los Angeles she has taken classes from various choreographers at Playground LA, Millennium, and more! While at AMDA she has made lifelong friendships and amazing connections with other artists. Stay tuned to see where her journey leads her!
